SCC Set to Give $1.7 million to Students

NEWS-1

Southeastern Community College (SCC) will award $1.7 million to students through direct payments in Fall 2021. Eligible students will receive money through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA).

SCC feels strongly that students need this type of funding for living expenses, such as books, tuition, childcare, food, transportation, and other living expenses.

SCC offers personalized financial aid counseling to students to set up a payment plan and determine and apply for financing options that work best for them, including grants, scholarships, loans, and work-study opportunities.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive HEERF II money?

All students enrolled for the Fall 2021 semester will automatically receive an award based on their program of study and enrollment status.

Can I apply HEERF II funds directly to my fall tuition and fees to reduce the amount I must pay by the payment deadline?

Yes! It’s always a good power move to reduce the cost of your tuition and/or fees when you have the chance. For more information, contact the Financial Aid office at 910.788.6214.
