Educational Talent Search serves 850 students in Columbus County and Whiteville City Schools. Free supportive services include tutoring and mentoring; personal, career, academic, and financial literacy counseling; exposure to college campuses and cultural enrichment activities; and assistance with college entrance exam preparation, financial aid and college admissions applications.

Application Process

Students currently attending schools served by Southeastern Community College ETS that are interested in becoming ETS participants should contact either their guidance counselor or the ETS office directly.

Tutoring Information

Current ETS participants interested in receiving free tutoring should contact their coordinator immediately to make this request. All tutoring must be pre-approved by the ETS office.

UPCOMING CAMPS

STEM CAMP

October 22 – December 3, 2020
Thursdays from 6-8 p.m.
FREE, Virtual

Rising 7th and 8th graders

Apply for enrollment in a virtual STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) camp. The camp will provide hands-on activities that focus on Newton’s Laws of Motion, Aerodynamics, Cryogenics, and Strawberry DNA Extraction.  Each student will receive a kit with supplies to complete the activities.

Enrollment in the camp is limited, and students must register no later than Friday, October 16th.

Interested students must complete a STEM Camp application, Educational Talent Search application, and submit a copy of their report card/transcript if they are not already enrolled in the program.

Cinematography Camp

October 27 – December 1
Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m.
High school students
FREE, Virtual

Students must register by Friday, October 6, 2020. You must have internet access and a smartphone, tablet or computer to participate.

Interested students must complete a Cinematography Camp application, Educational Talent Search application, and submit a copy of their report card/transcript if they are not already enrolled in the program.
