Southeastern Community College has a comprehensive television production studio, EDU-Cable, that works to promote academic, industry and community programs and opportunities to benefit the Columbus County community as well as SCC students, faculty and staff.
Cable shows may be seen seven days a week from 9 a.m. until midnight on Spectrum channel 6 in Whiteville and surrounding areas. Viewers can learn anything from how to perform home repairs to how to lead a healthy life. From cultural arts to landscaping, you’ll find out what’s happening in Columbus County and how you can participate. For more information about EDU-Cable, contact Sam Heller or Amanda Hilburn.
EDU-Cable offers a Community Bulletin Board feature and encourages the public to submit information about community events. Email Samantha Heller two weeks in advance.
The production control room utilizes multi-format recording/playback, Broadcast Piix Switcher system and non-linear editing with Avid Media Composer.
EDU-Cable, in conjunction with the Broadcasting and Production Technology program, is able to video events and programs throughout Columbus County at cost. Interested persons should contact EDU-Cable to obtain the forms necessary for consideration. EDU-Cable has performed this service for local churches, the Columbus Regional Healthcare System and many others.
