When a student applies for financial aid, the funds will usually come from more than one source. This combination of financial resources is referred to as packaging.
Definition of Financial Need
Students are packaged for financial aid based on the student’s financial need. Financial need is determined by a student’s Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as compared to SCC’s Cost of Attendance (COA). To meet with federal regulations, SCC defines the neediest students as those whose EFC equals zero.
