“The job demand is extremely high and is expected to increase by 11% by 2030, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics,” said Dawn Williamson, MLT Director. “Also, our surrounding hospitals are desperate and calling Me for MLTs to hire. We need students to fill these positions in an amazing career.”

Christa Lynch, a May 2019 graduate of SCC, established a scholarship for students in the MLT program at SCC. During her time at SCC, Lynch was a wife and mother working full-time in the phlebotomy community from Brunswick County. “I felt the scholarship I received and the quality of instruction was so impactful I wanted to pay it forward,” Lynch said.
