Strong showing by SCC students at welding competition

Southeastern Community College Early College students Carlos Trejo and Landon Hinson finished first and third, respectively, in the welding event at the South Central Regional Rally of NC SkillsUSA held recently at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

Trejo will complete an A.A., A.S. and A.A.S. in Welding along with a high school diploma this spring. Hinson will complete a Diploma in Welding and a high school diploma.

Trejo and Hinson will participate in the NC SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Conference being held April 19-20 at the Greensboro Coliseum and Koury Center. The students have also qualified to compete in the welding category on April 20 at Rowan Cabarrus Community College.

Last Weekend the Rams took down #12 in the nation Pitt Community College, behind Garrett Wolffs career series. In game number 1 the Rams pulled the string on the Bulldogs in a hard-fought win.
