Southeastern Community College (SCC) graduate Ethan Jenkins was selected as a Goodnight Scholar at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in the third ever Transfer Class.

The Goodnight Scholar Program prepares North Carolina’s top STEM talent to become transformational leaders at NC State University, in North Carolina, and in the world.

While a student at SCC Jenkins was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and recipient of the Biology Award. Ethan was also heavily involved with the SCC Foundation as president of the SCC Ambassador program.

Jenkins hopes to return to Columbus County to teach Agriculture Education. “I love living in Columbus County. We have deep roots here in agriculture and I’d love to be able to give back to my hometown.” He says, “I wasn’t planning to attend SCC after high school but I’m so glad I did. The faculty and staff were instrumental in helping me transfer. They truly want the best for you.”

He plans to major in agricultural education at NCSU.
