Tuesday, January 21st, 2020

Christa Lynch, a May 2019 graduate of Southeastern Community College established a scholarship for students enrolled in the Medical Laboratory Technology program at SCC. During her time at SCC, Lynch was a wife and mother working full-time in phlebotomy, commuting from Brunswick County.

As a student at SCC, Lynch received the Lloyd and Beth Batten Scholarship. During the July 2019 annual Donor and Scholarship Recipient Luncheon, Lynch sat with Dixie Batten, the family representative. Lynch said, “I felt the scholarship I received and the quality of instruction was so impactful I wanted to pay-it-forward.”

In January 2019, The Christa A. Lynch Scholarship was awarded to Blair Gore of Whiteville, NC.

One $1,100 scholarship will be given Spring semester to qualifying students. To learn more about scholarship opportunities, contact the SCC Foundation at (910) 788-6260.
