Southeastern Community College has scheduled commencement exercises for Friday, May 13, 2022, for the graduating class of 2022. The event will take place outdoors at SCC at 9 am.
The graduating ceremony will be the first “traditional” graduation since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020. “The college is excited to host a normal graduation,” said President Dr. Chris English. “We have big plans to celebrate our students who have worked so hard over the past few years to cross that stage. Most of our graduates began their journey when the world shut down due to the global pandemic but they didn’t let that stop them. These students have shown resilience. They took advantage of the amazing opportunities to succeed at SCC and into the future. I’m so proud of each of them.”
The graduation ceremony will include student success stories, parents will be involved in a unique way with a fun celebration after the ceremony has ended.

FRIDAY, MAY 13th
8:00 am: Report to the area in-between A and D for line up.
8:45 am: The graduation processional lineup will begin promptly. Please dress in proper attire that reflects the dignity of the occasion.
9:00 am: The graduation ceremony begins in front of the A-Building.
Rain Plan: In the event of rain, notifications will be sent out by text message, email, website, and social media. Graduation ceremonies will be held in the SCC Auditorium for graduates and their two special guests only. To accommodate everyone there will be two separate ceremonies. One for college transfer and one for all other programs. Additional guests will be allowed to view the graduation via live stream on the college’s YouTube channel at stations set up around campus.
First Ceremony – College Transfer & High School Equivalency Graduates
8:00 am: Report to the “A” building for robing

Second Ceremony – All Other Program Graduates
10:00 am: Report to the “A” building for robing

11:00 am: Graduation ceremony begins in the SCC Auditorium.
