Kathryn Caine and The Family Band

The Wyche Gallery exhibition, “Art and Parkinson’s” features work by Kathryn Caine. The exhibit runs from September 30 – October 25.  In conjunction with the Performing Arts Series, Caine will be kicking off the season with a performance by The Family Band, which includes her children Isabel and Evans at 6:30 p.m. on October 3.

“Art and Parkinson’s” is a visual narrative of the effects of Parkinson’s Disease on Dr. W. Ogden.

The series was a way of dealing with how the devastation of Parkinson’s affected Caine’s mother; the caretaker of her dad who has the disease. It was a way of communicating and sharing a story with the public. The Family Band is centered around the talents of sister and brother Isabel (17) and Evans (15) Humphreys and backed by their mom, Americana Artist Kathryn Caine, Their songs transport listeners on a southern-rural gospel journey.

Caine’s Wyche Gallery reception will be on October 3 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. with The Family Band performing at 6:30 pm.

The Wyche Gallery, located upstairs in A Building, features work by local and regional artists. It offers an educational opportunity to our students and community through exhibitions, visiting artist lectures, and artist workshops. New exhibits are on view every six weeks during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Funding for the Gallery is provided by the SCC Foundation.
