Dr. Dan Strickland Sworn in as New SCC Board Member

Dr. Dan Strickland was sworn in by Clerk of Superior Court, Jess Hill, at the Board of Trustees regular board meeting on Tuesday, July 19.

Dr. Strickland was appointed by the Columbus County Board of Commissioners. Strickland is a graduate of West Columbus High School, Campbell University ( BS in Social Science), East Carolina (certification in Art Education), UNCP (Masters in Educational Leadership), East Carolina University ( Eds. in Educational Leadership) South Carolina State University (Doctorate of Educational Leadership).

Strickland has a rich history of serving Columbus County through education with over 50 years of experience. A few of his tributes were as former Superintendent of Columbus County Schools,  he served on the planning committee to obtain funds and development of Columbus Career & College Academy (early college). Through strong partnerships, he worked with the county-wide committee and SCC to obtain the grant from the Golden Leaf Foundation to start the technical part of Early College housed originally on the Fair Bluff campus.
