This August, nine students completed the second Dialysis Technology class at Southeastern Community College. The program began in March 2016 after DaVita donated training equipment to SCC.
Most of the students have a family member or know someone on dialysis and felt that completing this class would allow them to understand what they are going through. Many of the class participants also came from a nurse aide background and were looking to enhance their skills.
All students expressed how much they learned in the classroom and at clinicals and how prepared they felt to enter the workforce with the skills necessary to assist dialysis patients. Several of the students have already secured employment or interviews with area dialysis treatment centers.
The next Dialysis Technology cohort will begin August 23.

Last Weekend the Rams took down #12 in the nation Pitt Community College, behind Garrett Wolffs career series. In game number 1 the Rams pulled the string on the Bulldogs in a hard-fought win. Garrett Wolff played a large part hitting 2 homers in the game. Lefrederick Wooten tallied a grand slam to the scoreboard. Tyler Satterley gets the win while Jonathan Foster gets the hold, and Caden Kingston gets the save. 10-9 SCC...

SCC is hosting a Rams Family Fun Day on Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 10:30am - 4:30pm. The college is celebrating baseball and softball sophomores who are graduating in May.
