Student Ambassador Program

The SCC Ambassador program empowers students to achieve success by providing them with opportunities to cultivate their communication, planning, interpersonal, team building, decision-making, management, and leadership skills.  

History

The Ambassador program has been active at SCC since 1989 and its focus is on enhancing student leadership. Ambassadors provide a variety of services on campus and in the community.

Responsibilities

Student Ambassadors are required to attend scheduled meetings, attend guest speaker events, attend industry partner visits, attend team activities, complete a year-long leadership course, help with all requested on-campus events, participate in all requested community events, and host fundraisers as required by the college.  Please click here to view the Ambassador Contract.

Qualifications

Students that are interested in becoming a Student Ambassador must demonstrate academic success, be a full-time curriculum students, and have a current SCC GPA of 2.5 or higher (or a 3.0 High School GPA).  Students must show a commitment to academic and professional success.  

Applicants will be interviewed by a committee and evaluated based on verbal and nonverbal communication skills, community services/club participation, academics, knowledge of SCC, commitment to the Ambassador program, references provided, and work ethic.  

Student Ambassador Program Benefits

Each student Ambassador will receive a stipend after successfully fulfilling the Ambassador program contract. In addition to the stipend Ambassadors will receive opportunities to cultivate industry partner connections and grow as leaders.  

How to Apply

Students that are interested in applying to become a SCC Ambassador should complete this application. The deadline for applications is 8/4 by 11:59 p.m. The committee will review applications and notify students to schedule interviews once the application is closed.  

Request Our Ambassadors

Southeastern Community College Student Ambassadors represent the college at both college and community events. If you would like to request one or more of our Ambassadors to work at an upcoming event please complete this form. The advisors ask that you complete the request form two weeks in advance if possible. Once we receive your request, we will be in contact with you to confirm receipt.  

The SCC Ambassadors will be helping at various events on campus and around the community. Please take the time to stop and say hello and get to know these future leaders.
