Community refers not only to the college community, but also to the community that the school is a part of in whole. Service learning and active engagement within the community demonstrates awareness and the integration of classroom theories into actual life applications. Students will participate in specific classes tied to activities within an environment that shares intellectual or physical space with the larger community. Demonstration of engagement in community activities requires some form of written verification.

The Associate in General Education curriculum is designed for the academic enrichment of students who wish to broaden their education, with emphasis on personal interest, growth and development. Coursework includes study in the areas of humanities and fine arts, social and behavioral sciences, natural sciences and mathematics, and english composition.

Students are encouraged to contact their advisor to ensure the proper completion of all general education curriculum, as well as plan their coursework for their desired degree or certification program.
