CARES Act Student Aid – As part of the Federal CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security) Act, Southeastern Community College (SCC) received funding, which will be provided as direct payments to eligible students as emergency funding for expenses incurred related to the disruption of campus operations due to Coronavirus. Students can apply online. For questions, contact Financial Aid. Applications will be available until funding is expended.

EAP Counseling – FREE counseling provided to students and their household members through a Student Assistance Program (SAP). Examples of concern include family conflict, relationship issues, legal and financial issues, grief and loss, alcohol or drug use, stress, anxiety, or depression, and school-related issues. Confidentiality is an important feature. No one will know a student has used this resource unless the student offers that information or unless someone’s safety is threatened. For counseling assistance or professional advice, students may call 800-633-3353. Appointments are available during both daytime and evening hours, and staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Self-help resources are also available for students on the mygroup.com website.

NC 211 – information and referral service provided by United Way of North Carolina. Families and individuals can call to obtain free and confidential information on health and human services and resources within the community.
