This course is designed to prepare graduates to provide personal care and perform basic nursing skills for the elderly and other adults. Upon satisfactory completion of the course and state-approved Nurse Aide I competency evaluation, the graduate is eligible to apply for listing as a Nurse Aide I with N.C. Nurse Aide I Registry. Please note: Criminal background checks and random urine drug screens will be done once enrolled.

This course provides training in Nurse Aide II tasks. Emphasis is placed on the role of the Nurse Aide II, sterile technique and specific tasks such as urinary catheterization, wound care, respiratory procedures, ostomy care, peripheral IV assistive activities, and alternative feeding methods. Upon completion, graduates should be able to demonstrate knowledge in the performance of skills necessary for listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide II Registry. Please note: Criminal background checks and random urine drug screens will be done once enrolled.
Nurse Aide II students must be currently listed on the NC Nurse Aide I Registry. To enroll in Nurse Aide courses, there are things you must do before the day of registration.

This course is designed to provide a review of the Nurse Aide I core content to prepare individuals who have been or are currently listed on a Nurse Aide I Registry, have successfully completed a state-approved training program, hold a state-recognized health care credential from any state or military personnel who have had medical/ corpsman training, to sit for the Nurse Aide I State Exam. Upon satisfactory completion of the course and state-approved Nurse Aide I competency evaluation, the graduate is eligible to apply for listing/relisting as a Nurse Aide I with N.C. Nurse Aide I Registry.

This course is designed to prepare individuals with the theoretical, technical, and clinical skills needed to assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, medical equipment and supplies, pharmaceutical care services, and other healthcare products and services for patients. Class format includes lectures, laboratory, and clinical activities. Successful completion prepares individuals for employment as a pharmacy technician in hospitals and pharmacies. Upon satisfactory completion of the course and the Pharmacy Technology Certification Exam (PTCE), the graduate is eligible to apply for listing as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) with the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
To enroll in Pharmacy Technology training courses, there are things you must do before the day of registration.
Students will have additional requirements once enrolled.
In this class, you will prepare for the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam administered by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB). Students will review the eight main areas of testing as listed on the PTCB website. Students eligible to take this class include those who have completed the Pharmacy Tech course in the past 5 years and wish to take the exam, or those having an expired PTCB certification within the past 5 years, or those employed in the pharmacy setting wishing to take the exam.
This course will prepare the student for national certification as a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA). Students enrolled in the course will have the opportunity to learn the skills required to work in a medical office setting. Topics include medical terminology, communication skills, vital signs, CPR, administrative duties, office procedures and introduction to insurance billing and coding. Upon completion of the class, individuals can apply to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Medication Aide Exam Prep for ACH (Adult Care Home) This class prepares students for the Medication Administration Exam administered by the NC Division of Facility Services. Students will learn policies and procedures for administering medications, including subcutaneous injections, drug interactions and side effects. The certification enables students to work in a group home, adult care home, assisted living facility or prison.
This class prepares students for the Medication Administration exam administered by Pearson Vue. Students will learn policies and procedures for administering medications in a variety of forms and includes drug interactions and side effects. The Medication Aide for skilled nursing facilities and Nurse Aide I certifications will enable the individual to work in a skilled nursing facility. High School Diploma Required. Limited Seating.
High school diploma, GED or adult high school diploma required.
This course introduces basic home management skills and personal care tasks needed to provide care in a home setting to individuals needing limited assistance. This may include care of individuals with developmental disabilities, mental illness and/or behavioral needs. Graduates may pursue additional training as a Nurse Aide I, or may pursue employment in-home care agencies and individual homes as well as group home settings.

Understanding of hundreds of complex medical terms is essential for anyone working in any capacity in a medical office. Students will learn spelling, pronunciation, and meaning of a wide range of medical terms. This course is a prerequisite for Healthcare Billing and Coding courses.
Medical coding and billing professionals translate medical records into standardized codes used to bill patients and third-party payers such as insurance companies and Medicare. This coding course emphasizes the rules and guidelines on the CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding manual. Students will be prepared to sit for the CPC (Certified Professional Coders) national exam upon completion of this course and ICD-10.
Prerequisite: Medical Terminology or medical work experience.
This medical coding course will emphasize the rules/ guidelines of the ICD-10 (International Classification of Disease) coding manual along with preparing the students for real-world, professional coding duties in a medical office setting. The course benefits those who work or want to work in the medical field whether it is as a medical biller, medical coder, and/or medical assistant. Upon completion of ICD-10 and CPT, students will be prepared to sit for the CPC (Certified Professional Coders) national exam.
Prerequisite: Medical Terminology or medical work experience.
Gain the skills necessary to assist an optometrist or ophthalmologist with chairside skills, office procedures, patient care, exam, treatment and more. Completion of class and working with an ophthalmologist for one year will enable you to test for certification.
