UPWARD BOUND | Program Services
- Academic, Personal and Career Counseling
- Academic Tutoring during the high school year, for all participants
- Allows graduating high school seniors to attend Southeastern Community College for up to six tuition-free hours and covers the cost of books during summer session
- Assistance with College Selection, College and Financial Aid Applications
- Bridge Program (Six College Credit hours at SCC for Graduating Seniors)
- Campus trips of colleges and universities for all Upward Bound seniors
- Classes in literature, math, science, foreign language and computer literacy
- Cultural activities and trips
- Cultural Enrichment and Educational travel
- Elective courses in physical education, music and art
- Individualized instruction and counseling
- Parental Involvement Activities
- Parental Involvement Through the Parent Advisory Council
- Program participants receive a monthly stipend to help defray their transportation expenses.
- Provides on-site tutoring at each of the four participating high schools
- Nutritious meals are provided during the six-week summer program
- SAT, ACT and College Admission's Application Fee Waivers
- Six-week Summer Enrichment Program
- Tutoring in math, science, reading and English on Mondays from 6:oo until 8:00 pm
- Upward Bound Scholarships (2) offered yearly to graduating seniors (application)
- Workshops on Financial Aid, Study Skills and Personal Growth
