The IDA program, which is an asset-building
program for individuals with low or medium incomes,
can be used specifically for building assets, starting
a small business, education, job training or home ownership.
This program provides $2 for every $1 saved, up to $1,000.
Participants are required to attend economic education
classes and support groups.
REAL
(Rural Entrepreneurship Through Action Learning)
REAL is a unique hands-on approach through which program
participants learn to be entrepreneurs by planning,
owning, and operating their own businesses, rather than
studying business theory. Prior business experience
and/or course are not required. The program helps individuals
to start, expand, and improve their own small business
and deals with topics such as research and feasibility,
business plan essentials, legal structures, targeting
the customer, taxes and licenses, and computerized financial
analysis.
