POLICIES AND PROCEDURES | Human Resources | 5.33 Reduction in Force

Reduction in Force

A reduction in force is involuntary termination or the involuntary non-renewal of an employee's contract due to insufficient funds; insufficient enrollment to merit continuation of courses, programs, and/or services; or a reorganization or other substantive changes in duties or assignments within the institution.  The guiding principle in all decisions made under this policy is the consideration of the needs of the population being served with respect to the mission and goals of the institution while minimizing the negative impact on the level and quality of services provided.
