Leaves of Absence

Paid and unpaid leaves permit employees time away from work for renewing their physical and mental capabilities, for coping with personal illness or the illness of a family member, for meeting civil or military obligations, or for meeting personal or professional educational goals.  Most of these leaves of absence have very specific eligibility and use guidelines, and all require approval of the employee’s supervisor.  Employees who are absent without approved leave may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal.

The college has established the following leave classifications: Annual Leave, Civil Leave, Educational Leave, FMLA Leave, Military Leave, Parental Leave, Personal Leave, Sick Leave, Voluntary Shared Leave and Leave Without Pay.
