Welcome to Talent Search
Educational Talent Search is federally funded by the United States Department of Education. The purpose of the program is to encourage participants to graduate from high school and successfully enroll in a postsecondary institution. Talent Search serves 850 students in Columbus County and Whiteville City Schools. Free supportive services include tutoring and mentoring; personal, career, academic, and financial literacy counseling; exposure to college campuses and cultural enrichment activities; and assistance with college entrance exam preparation, financial aid and college admissions applications.
Although Talent Search primarily serves sixth through twelfth grade students, the program is also available to assist persons who have dropped out of high school or college and want to re-enter the educational system. For more information call 910-642-7141.
Educational Talent Search also identifies and assists individuals from income eligible backgrounds and /or potential first generation students (neither parent has a four- year college degree) who have the potential to succeed in higher education.
