Definition
Life-long learning refers to constantly updating ones content knowledge within a field and learning new fields of interest throughout individuals’ working lives. Awareness indicates that students have been exposed to and understand the basic concept. Demonstration indicates that students can apply the idea of life-long learning to their individual college and
career plans.
Lifelong Learning assesses student understanding in the following categories:
- Application of the idea of life-long learning to individual college and career plans
- Understands what lifelong learning means
- Understands the knowledge in field under study changes
- Understand that additional learning will be required to keep up in chosen career path
- Recognizes that individuals must plan to ensure that they keep up in their chosen career path
