Four Components of Family Literacy

The four components of Family Literacy includes GED preparation, Adult Basic Education, Early Childhood Education (instruction for preschool-aged children, elementary-aged children, infants, and toddlers), and Parent and Child Together Time (PACT). PACT strengthens the learning relationship between parent and child and helps the parent become more empowered in his/her role as the child(ren)'s primary teacher. Parent Time provides parents with information about the early childhood educational development of their child(ren) and an opportunity to discuss their child(ren)'s development as well as other concerns.

Family Literacy

This program will help parents better appreciate the vital responsibility they have in preparing their child(ren) for success in school and later in life. The program includes weekly parenting and life skills, as well as GED classes, home visits by parent educators, monthly discussion groups, parent and child interaction time.
