Boot-up and Beyond: PC Troubleshooting for the Everyday User
Don’t spend your hard-earned cash on expensive PC maintenance or repair! This course covers the basics of replacing floppy drives, modems, printers, and the hardware you need to keep your computer running smoothly. Learn how to install and uninstall software, troubleshoot and run regular maintenance on your computer, and how to use anti-virus software and do regular upgrades
Concealed Carry Handgun Training
Take your first step to a concealed handgun permit. It takes only 12 hours to complete. You will receive a certificate that will allow you to apply for the permit at any Sheriff’s department. You must be at least 21 years old and a North Carolina resident.
Contractor’s Licensing Preparation
You can be a licensed contractor in North Carolina, but you need to prepare for the NC Licensing Exam. This is the only seminar available which will teach you what to expect on the exam, and how to study in order to pass the exam. This program covers both the residential and commercial license. The cost includes a study manual and NC exam application form.  Pre-registration required.
Conversational Spanish
Develop your creativity and learn a new language. This course is designed for beginners who want to be introduced to Spanish and start learning as soon as possible.  It will allow participants to understand simple situations using interactive dialogues and specific vocabulary. With the help of a Spanish-speaking instructor, you will hear and practice authentic everyday speech.
Ethics in Real Estate #2419 (Real Estate Elective)
This is part two of our popular; doing the right thing: real estate ethics. This is a case study to real life ethical situations This four-hour course is a continuing education requirement for the North Carolina Real Estate Licensee. Pre-registration required.
HVAC License Renewal
This course is required for Heating and Air Conditioning License Renewal and will be taught in three different session. Take all or only the ones you want. Sessions include: Residential System Design, Improving Your HVAC Skills and Customer Relations.

In-Home Aide Workplace Skills
This class is designed to train job seekers in home companion aide skills.  You will be able to work in the homes of the elderly and disabled by performing basic household duties, preparing meals and monitoring medications.  You will also assess basic workplace skills needed to be successful in this field.  Pre-registration required.
Introduction to AutoCAD 2002
The purpose of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the features, limitations, and considerations associated with the operation of a computer-aided design/drafting (CAD) system. Students will gain valuable hands-on experience. Class size limited to 12.
Introduction to the Personal Computer and Windows 
Everyone needs to start somewhere in learning how to operate a computer. This is an excellent place to begin understanding how a computer works, the most commonly used computer terms, how to operate a mouse, and the basics of the Windows 2000 operating system. You will learn how to manage your desktop, locate and arrange data folders and files, and more. This course is designed for the absolute beginner and prepares the student for other computer courses. 
Keyboarding with Microsoft Word 2000 
Develop touch-keyboarding skills using a computer keyboard. Become familiar with alphabetic, numeric, symbol and function keys. Drill for speed, accuracy and keyboard applications. Keyboarding (typing) is a prerequisite and an essential skill for efficient and comfortable use of software applications. You will also learn the Microsoft Word, the leading word processing software.  This class is self paced with guided instruction. 
Microsoft Excel
This course is designed for the computer-literate to intermediate-level user. As a result of taking this course, participants will be able to create, sort, filter, edit, and print spreadsheet files using Excel 2000. They will learn how to write formulas, format cells, cut, copy, and paste cells and ranges of cells. 
Microsoft Publisher
Publisher 2000 is a desktop publishing program you can use to create and enhance professional images for brochures, newsletters and web sites. Whether you are creating marketing materials, church programs, school programs, news publications or a catalog for print, this powerful computer application can take you to levels of design expertise with all you publications. 
Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Learn how to use software applications to create text documents such as mail merges, analyze numbers for such applications as a budget and manage large files of data that will track inventory or any other items or people. You will be given guided instruction using these applications and then try to create documents with the aid of the instructor.
Navigating the Internet
Become part of the information network! Learn how to surf, browse, and feel a part of the growing technology. Learn about Net providers, newsgroups, searching, e-mail, and the World Wide Web. You will also learn how to use directories, locate online resources, government information, names and address, and travel topics.  The course will have a wide variety of topics to illustrate how the Internet can be used. 
Notary Public
Prepare for commissioning as a Notary Public in this two-session class. It covers qualifications and requirements for the office, fees, general powers and limitations, oaths, affirmations, depositions, affidavits, negotiable instruments, and papers notarized in error.
OSHA Outreach Safety Training Program:  General Industry
The Outreach classes are designed and intended to provide a variety of instruction on safety and health standards to be presented to people in general industry. The classes will emphasize hazard identification, avoidance, control and prevention. Topics will include: Introduction to OSHA, Inspections, Citations, & Penalties, Walking and Working Surfaces, Means of Egress and Fire Protection, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, Hazard Communication, and Industrial Hygiene/Bloodborne Pathogens. Upon successful completion, students will receive the OSHA 10 hour card for General Industry Safety & Health. Pre-Registration required.
PowerPoint
This is an introductory course into the world of presentation graphics using Microsoft
PowerPoint software. PowerPoint is a very powerful program used to create slideshow presentations. If you want to learn just the very basics so you can begin work, this is the class for you. It will cover how to create simple day-to-day presentations, the typical kind used for work and school. Topics will include creating a slideshow using ready-made templates as well as creating from scratch, putting graphics and sounds into your shows, and making your shows run themselves--just the basics. 
QuickBooks Pro
Coordinate all your business accounting needs with this powerful software package. Discover how to set up books for a new company, process billing and manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, bank reconciliation, payroll and financial statements.
Real Estate Brokerage
This course provides basic instruction in the various real estate brokerage operations, including trust account records and procedures. Topics include establishing a brokerage firm, management concepts and practices, personnel and training, property management, advertising and publicity, records and bookkeeping systems, and financial operations. Upon completion, students should be able to establish, operate, and manage a realty brokerage practice in a manner that protects and serves the public interest. Pre-registration required.
Real Estate Fundamentals 
This course provides instruction in Fundamentals of Real Estate principles and practices, including real estate law, financing, brokerage, closing valuation, management, and taxation. Also included is instruction on residential building construction, land use, the real 
estate market and the NC Real Estate Licensing Board exam. Pre-registration required.
Real Estate Update #9903
This course is written and sponsored by the NC Real Estate Commission that deals with selected issues directly related to the real estate profession. Remember, this four-hour course is a continuing education requirement for the North Carolina Real Estate Licensee. Pre-registration required.
Spanish for Healthcare Professionals
This is an intensive, interactive course for medical professionals based in second language learning methods. Emphasis is on the development of both oral and aural skills for practical use of the language in clinical settings. Situational dialogues feature Diego Gonzalez a farm worker who seeks medical treatment for an ongoing gastrointestinal problem. Cultural perspectives pertinent to the healthcare professional are integrated throughout the course. The course is designed to facilitate the development of beginning/advance beginning Spanish language skills and cultural awareness.
Understanding the 2002 National Electrical Code
Students will be introduced to the 2002 National Electrical Code. Among the topics to be covered in the class include changes from the 1999 Code, definitions, requirements for electrical installations, wiring and protection, wiring methods and materials, grounding and bonding, service calculations and motor protection. Pre-registration required.

This course will cover some of the basics of Word.  You will create effective printed materials such as newsletters, advertisements, brochures, manuals, and greeting cards. You will learn how to use Microsoft Word to prepare your own printed material for home, business, school and church. 
Word 2000: Introductory
Learn basic document management, edit texts and manuscripts, format documents and use tables. Become familiar with the new features associated with Word 2000. This course is intended for people with little or no background in word processing.
