alert now

Keeping you informed is a top priority at Southeastern Community College. That’s why we have adopted the ALERTNOW Notification Service which will allow us to send a voicemal, e-mail or text message to you providing important information about college events or emergencies. We anticipate using ALERTNOW to notify you of emergencies on campus, cancellations due to inclement weather, as well as remind you about various events. In the event of an emergency at the college, you can have peace of mind in knowing that you will be informed immediately by cell phone.

What you need to know about receiving calls sent through ALERTNOW

  • Caller ID will display the college’s main number when a general announcement is delivered.
  • Caller ID will display 411-000-0000 if the message is a dire emergency.
  • ALERTNOW will leave a message on any answering machine or voicemail.
  • If the ALERTNOW message stops playing, press any key 1-9 and the message will replay from the beginning.

What you need to do to start receiving calls sent through ALERTNOW

  • The successful delivery of information is dependent upon accurate contact information.
  • Please make certain that we have your most current telephone/cell numbers and email address.
  • If this information changes during the year, please notify me immediately, via email.
  • Note that the home phone number will be called for standard and emergency calls; the cell phone number will only be used in an emergency, and all will be dialed simultaneously.
  • If you want to receive emergency notifications in the form of a text message, go to AlertNow SMS Web Portal and register to start receiving the emergency text messages. You will be asked for a six-digit PIN and it is “rocco1.” Follow the instructions on the screens.
  • If you do not wish to receive emergency text messages, do nothing. You will only receive the emergency calls and emails.

*The ALERTNOW Information Form may be printed, completed and returned to Matlynn Yeoman, Vice President of Student Development and Technology Services if you wish to receive emergency and information calls from Southeastern Community College.

Thank you for your cooperation and if you have any questions, please contact Matlynn Yeoman, Vice President of Student Development and Technology Services at 910-642-7141, ext. 206 or myeoman@sccnc.edu.
