Registering

Registration for curriculum classes occurs prior to the beginning of each semester and, for night classes, during the first week of each semester. Exact times and dates are announced in advance through campus publications and public media.

A student registering for the first time is required to follow all admissions processes unless registering as a Special Student.  A signed admission application must be completed by all students.  Click here to submit the Admission Application online. 

The Admission Application.pdf version can be printed and submitted to the registrar's office. Our mailing address is: Southeastern Community College, Records & Registration - PO Box 151, Whiteville, NC 28472. Please note that all information must be completed and you must sign the application.  Incomplete and unsigned applications can not be processed.

How To Register

Step One: Apply for Admission
All new students will first need to apply for admission to SCC. All new undergraduate students should also follow these additional steps for enrollment to SCC. Continuing SCC students can skip this step and move on to step two.

Step Two: Clear any Registration Holds
You should contact an admissions counselor to determine if you have any holds that will prevent you from registering for classes. Examples of registration holds include missing transcripts, unpaid fees, and academic advising requirements. Clearing registration holds as quickly as possible avoids delays in registration which can impact your chances of getting the classes and schedule that is best for you.

Step Three: Register for Classes
Once you have cleared any registration holds, you are ready to register for classes.  You can search for available classes by browsing a list of classes in PDF format in the appropriate curriculum class schedule. To be considered a full-time student, you must be registered for 12 or more credit hours. Anything less than 12 credit hours is considered part-time. 

Step Four: Pay Tuition and Fees
Once you are registered, you can pay your tuition and fees. More information concerning how tuition and fees are calculated and important deadlines for paying tuition and fees is available online at Tuition and Fees.

Step Five: Purchase Textbooks
You can view the booklist and purchase textbooks at the SCC Bookstore.

Step Six: Acquire Student ID and Parking Permit
