Williamson Library Survey 2014
On January 9, 2014, the formerly named SCC Library was dedicated and renamed Williamson Library in memory of Arthur W. Williamson, Sr., who donated the original tract of land for the formation of Southeastern Community College.
Located between the Nesmith Student Center and the Child Development Center (H-Building), the Williamson Library opened in L-Building in 1986 and has one of the largest physical collections in the North Carolina Community College system, offering a variety of information resources and services for students, faculty and staff, and the general public. Our mission is to provide library resources, services, technologies, instruction, and assistance to meet the informational and research needs of the College community; support the College's mission and programs; and promote lifelong learning.
Students, faculty, and staff should use SCC identification cards as a library card. Present this card at the Circulation Desk and complete a library card application. Community patrons may obtain library cards, upon request.
Distance Learning students may download the Library Card Application for Distance Learners on the Forms page. Follow the submission guidelines on the form.
Telephone & Cell Phone Use
Students and community patrons may not use the Library's telephones. Patrons may use the pay phones in the Nesmith Student Center and outside the north doors of A-Building.
Turn off or set cell phones to silent before entering the Library. Conduct cell phone conversations outside of the Library.
Patrons must abide by the policies and procedures for Internet use at SCC. Present one's library card at the Circulation Desk to "check-out" a computer. Computers are available on a "first come, first served" basis.
Clearance Forms for Graduation and Withdrawals
Students must clear the Library before graduating or withdrawing from a course. A library staff member will sign a student's clearance form upon receipt of all library materials and/or payment of outstanding fines.
